Components of the System

The system was built to cover the areas of Double Diamond Ranch, South Meadows area of South Reno. The repeater was built in the summer of 2011 and went on the air in September 2011. The primary purpose is to provide EchoLink and IRLP access and to utilize in the field for education,training and emergency operations. The system is open to all in the area.

Duplexers
The system duplexers are Wacom WP-678-R2, Band-Pass, Band-Reject filters. These can be obtained for fairly inexpensive off ebay.

Radios
The radios chosen for this system are the Icom Commercial IC-F6011. The heat sinks and features on the radios is what made my decision.

Arcom RC210 Repeater Controller

Repeater Controller
The repeater controller is an ARCOM RC210 Repeater Controller. The controller has three ports and provide speech and CW IDs. The controller features several other great options such as a scheduler, remote base interfacing and a great price!

Portable Rack

The Rack
The rack is a mobile sound rack which will allow for portable operation and showing to prospective amateur radio students on what a repeater system looks like. The rack has industrial grade wheels, 19"inch rack rails and front and back covers for transport.

The computer is a Mini-ITX Computer which can run on 12vdc and is low power (approx 10 watts).
